The Sacred Bath - India
The Sacred Bath is the highlight of Maha Kumb Mela, the most important Hindu purification ritual that is celebrated every 12 years at Allahâbâd - India, and which attracts millions of pilgrims. For this occasion, a real city, a mega tent city of 20 square kms, has been built on the sandy shores of the Ganges River. The Nagababa, a particular kind of Sadhu who have abandoned any land property, including clothing, celebrate with a bath in Sangam, the sacred place of the confluence of the sacred rivers Ganges, Yamuna and Saraswati. Water here assumes its most magical and purifying value. INDIA 2013
