The Last Dalai Lama
During his Italian visit giving teachings on the “Wisdom of Compassion” at the Modigliani Forum (Livorno, Tuscany, Italy, 14-15 June 2014), the Exiled Tibetan spiritual leader the Dalai Lama has said he realizes that he may be the last to hold the title. Tenzin Gyatso, the 14th Dalai Lama, was born in Taktser village, Amdo, Tibet. During the 1959 Tibetan uprising, the Dalai Lama fled to India, where he currently lives as a refugee. He’s patiently advocated for the Tibetan people’s autonomy while at the same time establishing a worldwide reputation for religious collaboration.
